Media became a huge crucial impact on teenage fashion. Many of these teens listened to the new music coming out and thought about fashion differently. That's when rap and hip-hop culture started. The stars who sang these types of music were admired so much by American teens. Because of that teens would wear clothes that look like the type of clothing these stars would wear.
With new stars making new music the "hippies" were introduced to the American teens. Hippies had a large influence in teens. Being a "hippie" simply meant that you wanted world peace and love. This started a whole controversy on teen culture.
Music stars like "The Beach Boys", "Elvis Presley", and "The Beatles" were very admired by teens in the 60's. Their music inspired teens to create their own styles even more creative.
